After trying unsuccessfully for three years to land a job in international development I finally engaged Kevin’s services, having seen him present at a careers talk a few years beforehand. Kevin was direct, encouraging and efficient and helped me to change my negative mindset about some of my experience and present it in the best light possible. Following Kevin’s advice I landed interviews for both of the two roles I applied for and shortly after was offered the role I am in now. RI - UK

Based on your guidance, I created a new resume. Prior to speaking with you I had applied for 14 roles, and heard back nothing. I sent the new resume out to a few jobs to test it: out of the 7 applications I made 4 progressed to the interview stage, and I was offered 2 roles! Thank you for your advice. Thank you for the advice and encouragement you've given me. Not only did you - literally - hand me the job, you also gave me the kick and realisation that there was no point sitting around talking about it, if I wanted to get into international development, I had to just really try to do it. Kevin was, unfailingly, a pleasure to work with. Highly knowledgeable, committed and competent, he was able to give clear, objective analysis of the international development sector, HR issues and recruitment. Kevin's innate creativity was apparent in his useful, to-the-point support and advice: I'd definitely work with him again. LC

First, Kevin was able to clarify for me that my career change goals are realistic and achievable. Such objective information is invaluable when trying to determine if your hopes and ideas are grounded in fact and reality. Second, he then got me to focus in much more greater detail on specifically what I wanted and how I intended to achieve my goals. And finally, and probably most importantly, Kevin gave me concrete actions that I could do that would help me work towards my career change goal. DD - VSO Returned Volunteer

Kevin’s technique was to keep refocusing my attention on stated goals, and to ensure that these were clearly defined with identifiable targets and time frames, and that I monitored these time frames and progress towards the goals. However, this very goal-directed approach did not stop him from also being sensitive to my feelings, and to relate to me in a ‘human’ rather than objectified way. JH - South Africa
